Thorir Davidson
I've been practicing Asatru for a little over a year now, and with that has come extensive study and practice in ritual and rune magick. I won't ever claim to be an expert, but I know a little bit of this and that.
On top of all that, I've also been a lone practitioner, which has it's own benefits. On the down sides, I don't have a mentor, so I can't draw off of their experiences. I also can't rely on my kindred's variety of skills, seeing as there is no-one else, to fill in gaps. On the upside, however, it's given me the freedom to look at many different kindreds and see how they do things, and try to piece together the best system I can come up with. It's also given me a chance to try several hobbies, from mead-making to bits of magick here and there.
One of my professors once called me a modern day Renaissance man; a man of many hobbies. Have to say, I like the title.
What do you do when not Asatru?
I'm a full-time student, studying computer science. If all works out, it'll help pay for my 20x hobbies! If that doesn't, though, I'm a big fan of cooking, and one day hope to open a restaurant with a few close friends of mine.
